Newly Renovated Village Library in Mount Pleasant to Reopen on Monday, Oct. 30
Charleston County Public Library (CCPL) will open the renovated Village Library, located at 430 Whilden St in Mount Pleasant (map), on Monday, Oct. 30. The public is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. at the branch. “We’re excited to open the doors to Village after months of renovation, and share this beautifully refreshed branch with the community,” said CCPL Executive Director Angela Craig.
The Village Library closed in October 2022 to undergo renovations as part of the ongoing $108.5 million referendum-funded project passed by Charleston County voters in 2014 to build five new libraries and renovate all existing branches. The branch received an interior refresh including new paint, carpet, and furniture. The designs were created by Liollio Architecture, and M. B. Kahn handled the construction.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will include speakers from the library and Charleston County Government, as well as elected officials. In addition to the ribbon cutting, patrons will have the opportunity to meet staff, explore the branch, and more.
