From librarians and library generalists to administrative assistants, communications specialists, and IT technicians, Charleston County Public Library offers employment in a variety of positions. Some positions are in public services where you interface with the general public. Other positions are supporting roles behind the scenes. They all work together to make the library the successful, engaging, diverse and inclusive space that it is. And do not worry about not having read a lot of books or being a big reader! Step 3: How do you apply? Start the application process by choosing to apply online or to download an application to submit by mail.
- · All sections of the application form must be completed – provide detailed information
- · A cover letter and resume must be attached but may not be used as a substitute for providing detailed information on the application.
- · The application must be signed and dated and must include the Position Title for which you are applying.
- · MLIS applicants must submit the CCPL Employment Application, your resume, cover letter, and a copy of college transcripts.

All applications are considered and referred to for the position title. Once you have applied for a position and then later wish to be considered for another position, you must submit another application. We suggest that you keep copies of your original application to submit for future openings; however, each application submitted must include position title, an original signature, and date.
Position openings are updated on a regular basis on the Careers page of our website. Charleston County Public Library reserves the right to close job postings without notice. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Applicants selected for interview will be contacted by phone. You do not need to call or stop by to inquire about the status of your application.
