CHARLESTON, S.C. - Three new library card designs, including the winning design from Charleston County Public Library's first library card design contest, were revealed during the June 10 Ribbon Cutting Ceremonyat Wando Mount Pleasant Library.

The library card design contest encouraged library lovers age 18 and older to submit an original design for consideration by Jan. 31. A library committee selected the finalists, and the public voted  online to select the winning card, designed by Erika Bilbo Fox.

Erika is a graphic designer with experience in identity branding who is driven to develop intelligent design that communicates a memorable story and experience to its audience. Watch a recent edition of Meet Your Library to learn how Erika found inspiration in Rainbow Row and incorporated the downtown landmark into her library card design submission.

Current CCPL patrons who want a library card with one of the new designs can request one at no charge, though they cannot keep their old library card number. Of the three designs, the library card featuring CCPL's Owlbert mascot is available for children age 11 and younger, while teens and adults can choose from the remaining two card designs (pictured above). Once a new library card is selected, the patron's CCPL account will be updated with the number featured on their new card.

The new library cards are now available at every CCPL location. Erika's design is a limited edition, so head over to your local branch to pick one up if her design is your favorite!
