Biography:

Charnette Singleton is a proud native of Awendaw, S.C., and is currently living in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She graduated from Wando High School, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Wofford College, and a Master of Library and Information Sciences Degree from the University of South Carolina. Since 2009 she has been the Dean of Libraries at Trident Technical College. She also serves on several state-wide library boards and committees.

Charnette believes in serving the Greater Charleston area communities of which she is the product of. She is a Past President and current member of the Charleston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is also the current Grand Supervising Deputy of District One, Order of the Eastern Star – Prince Hall Affiliation. In her spare time, Charnette loves jigsaw puzzles, LIVE concerts in various genres of music and reading.

Charnette was appointed to the CCPL Board of Trustees in January 2021.
