After his successful takedown of a dangerous terrorist, Bob Lee Swagger learns that no good deed goes unpunished. Summoned to court by the United States Congress, Swagger is accused of reckless endangerment by a hardheaded anti-gun congresswoman. But what begins as political posturing soon turns deadly when the auditorium where the committee is being held is attacked. Swagger, the congresswoman, and numerous bystanders and reporters are taken hostage by a group of violent operatives. Soon, the very people who had accused him are depending on him to save their lives. Trapped in the auditorium and still struggling with injuries from his last assignment, Swagger must rely on his instincts, his shooting skills, and the help of a mysterious rogue sniper on the outside in order to ensure that everyone makes it out alive.
Sierra Six by Mark Greaney
It's been more than a decade since the Gray Man's first mission, but the trouble's just getting started in this latest entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series. Before he was the Gray Man, Court Gentry was Sierra Six, the junior member of Zack Hightower's CIA Special Activities team, Golf Sierra, aka the Goon Squad. Court's skills were fearsome and undeniable. Too bad he wasn't also a team player. It took weeks of training and withering scrutiny to mold him into one, but the effort was worth it-on their first mission they took out a terrorist leader. The prize was invaluable; the cost was agonizing. Now, years have passed. The Gray Man is on a simple mission when he sees a ghost: the long-dead terrorist, though he's remarkably energetic for a dead man. A decade of time hasn't changed the Gray Man. Whatever the cost, he isn't one to leave a job unfinished or a blood debt unpaid.
Better Off Dead by Lee Child
Jack Reacher is back in the brand-new, page-turning thriller from acclaimed #1 bestselling authors Lee Child and Andrew Child. Reacher isn't one to back down from a fight. And when a shadowy crew raises the stakes, he won't hesitate to teach them a lesson: When you pick a fight with Reacher, you're better off dead.
Thank You For Your Service by David, Finkel
Now a Major Motion Picture Directed by American Sniper Writer Jason Hall and Starring Miles Teller No journalist has reckoned with the psychology of war as intimately as David Finkel. In The Good Soldiers, his bestselling account from the front lines of Baghdad, Finkel embedded with the men of the 2-16 Infantry Battalion as they carried out the infamous "surge". Now, in Thank You for Your Service, Finkel tells the true story of those men as they return home from the front-lines of Baghdad and struggle to reintegrate—both into their family lives and into American society at large. Finkel is with these veterans in their most intimate, painful, and hopeful moments as they try to recover, and in doing so, he creates an indelible, essential portrait of what life after war is like—not just for these soldiers, but for their wives, widows, children, and friends, and for the professionals who are truly trying, and to a great degree failing, to undo the damage that has been done. Thank You for Your Service is an act of understanding, and it offers a more complete picture than we have ever had of two essential questions: When we ask young men and women to go to war, what are we asking of them? And when they return, what are we thanking them for?
American Sniper by Chris Kyle
The #1 New York Times bestselling memoir of U.S. Navy Seal Chris Kyle, and the source for Clint Eastwood's blockbuster, Academy-Award nominated movie. U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. His fellow American warriors, whom he protected with deadly precision from rooftops and stealth positions during the Iraq War, called him "The Legend"; meanwhile, the enemy feared him so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head. Kyle, who was tragically killed in 2013, writes honestly about the pain of war—including the deaths of two close SEAL teammates—and in moving first-person passages throughout, his wife, Taya, speaks openly about the strains of war on their family, as well as on Chris. Gripping and unforgettable, Kyle's masterful account of his extraordinary battlefield experiences ranks as one of the great war memoirs of all time.
