The Listening Booth is an interactive storytelling installation at Charleston County Public Library. With the push of a button on a restored vintage pay phone, visitors can listen to powerful recorded stories. Some personal, some historical, all unforgettable.
Visit the installation in person. Find the Listening Booth at the Baxter-Patrick James Island Branch and hear the stories firsthand.

With Gratitude
This project was made possible through the generous support of Estée Lauder’s Literacy Initiative: Writing Change, with additional thanks to Turn90, Dr. Cerissa Hugie of MyNDSpace (Mindspace), Ralph Ternell of ATM Carolina Incorporated for donating the payphone used in the installation; SCHULMANCREATIVE for retroftting it with new technology; and Matt Garton of the American College of the Building Arts for their skilled craftmanship in bringing the booth to life.
