Scope and Content

This collection contains ephemera on various topics, events, organizations, etc. in South Carolina. These items were originally meant to be used for a short period of time to disseminate information. This includes event schedules, fliers, souvenir programs, government notices, handouts from churches, local associations, schools, universities, and more. The oldest item in the collection is a business card for George R. Walker, a solicitor, from the 1870’s (Business Cards). Other items of note are the publications from Spoleto Festival, USA (Festivals—Spoleto) and a 1919 dance card from the Isle of Palms Labor Day pavilion dance (Isle of Palms).
