      CHINA'S Hunan University of Medicine (HNUM) has named its newly inaugurated research centre after Pakistani Professor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary. Naming the research centre after Dr. Iqbal Choudhary is a significant honour, since this recognition not only highlights his achievements but also strengthens the academic and scientific ties between China and Pakistan. Dr. Choudhary is a distinguished Pakistani academic known for his extensive contributions to the field of organic chemistry, who has made significant advancements in natural product chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, and the development of new drugs. The erudite scholar earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Karachi and has been associated with the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi, where he has served in various capacities, including as the Director.
