    • Abstract:
The authors examine studies on fibroproliferative phase of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Topics discussed include the treatment benefit shown by the study of low-tidal volume ventilation (LTVV) in ARDS, the decline in the incidence of permanent scarring of lung tissue, and things needed by patients who progress to fibrosis after ARDS. Findings on autopsy and histopathological studies in ARDS are also mentioned.
