Se presentan hallazgos de investigación teológica sobre la identificación de motivaciones contextúales de Jn 4. El texto es el punto de partida, enunciado analíticamente a partir de signos representativos desde la tradición, mientras que las conclusiones se presentan como hipótesis comprensivas. Entre ellas, se resalta el encuentro de Jesús con la samaritana como un relato de "milagro" y una descripción metafórica de la transformación del cristianismo, de secta judía marginal a religión autónoma e independiente. Se exhibe el procedimiento y no la filigrana de la abducción, método de investigación cualitativa para hallar nuevos sentidos, establecer diálogos interdisciplinares y propender por la abolición de fanatismos. This article presents theological research findings concerning the identification of contextual motivations of Jn 4. The text is the starting point, analytically stated based on representative signs from tradition, while the conclusions are presented as comprehensive hypotheses. Among them, the encounter of Jesus and the Samaritan woman is highlighted as a "miracle" story, and as a metaphorical description of the transformation of Christianity, from being a marginal Jewish sect to become an autonomous and independent religion. The procedure is expressed but not the filigree of the abductions, a method of qualitative research to find new meanings, to establish interdisciplinary dialogues and favor the abolition of fanaticisms. Apresentam-se resultados de investigando teológica sobre a identificando de motivanóes contextuáis em Jo 4. O texto é o ponto de partida, enunciado analíticamente a partir de signos representativos desde a tradindo, enquanto as conclusóes se apresentam como hipóteses compreensivas. Entre elas, se ressalta o encontró de Jesus com a samaritana como um relato de "milagre" e urna describió metafórica da transformando do cristianismo, de seita judia marginal a religiáo autónoma e independente.
