A case study is presented on the role that the foods derived from Trinidadian cooking known as roti and doubles play in acting as comfort foods for the Trinidadian immigrant diaspora in the U.S., Canada and Great Britain. The psychological aspects that eating roti and doubles have on Trindiadians, including in regard to their feeling as though they are home and its relationship with their culture, are discussed.
