The article discusses what matters with respect to cereals. These include the bran of the grain as the part that is richest in whole grain fiber that may lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes, the need to check the serving size which in cereals could be anywhere from 1/4 cup to 1-1/4 cups and recommendation from the American Heart Association of not more than 6 teaspoons of added sugars a day for women and 9 teaspoons for men.
