    • Abstract:
10% of cancer patients would be classified differently using a new tumor classification system based on molecular subtypes vs. the current system based on tissue of origin, say researchers from UC Santa Cruz. Researchers examined molecular data from thousands of patients across 12 types of cancer, dividing tumors into clusters for analysis. The new method could be a more refined diagnostic tool that might lead to more therapy options for patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
