      The article explores the impact on insurance carriers of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Topics discussed include the crisis in Ukraine giving rise to sanctions by the U.S. and the European Union (EU) on a number of Russian individuals and companies, which resulted in carriers stopping underwriting new political risk and trade credit policies in Russia and Ukraine. Also mentioned are looming threats of even tighter sanctions against Russian spurring further geopolitical risks.
