    • Abstract:
The article discusses the results of the study by Kansas State University for veterinary company Merck Animal Health which examined livestock marketing firm Superior Livestock Auction (SLA) Inc. data. The results reportedly revealed that consumers in the U.S. are still willing to purchase calves at higher prices if they were preconditioned and weaned despite calf prices at record levels. It notes that the SLA data involved 6,891 lots marketed in 2013. INSET: Weaning costs, too.
