    • Abstract:
The article describes the results of a survey at Stanford University in California which showed poor performance of Stanford students on a test of basic history facts. The survey results reveal that two-thirds of respondents do not know the author of the book "The Wealth of Nations." One-third of students/respondents thought that the Enlightenment preceded the Renaissance. More 70 percent do not know the inventor of the printing press. The poor performance of students on basic history facts is attributable to the adoption by the university of the multiculturalism trend in its curriculum.
