- Abstract:
The author comments on assorted topics in connection with the 2014 World Cup soccer tournament. He observes that many players have worn gaily-colored footwear, and that James Rodríguez of the Colombian team has played particularly well. He further notes that unlike in the British Premier League, World Cup players have not been taking their shirts off to celebrate goals. In his view the uniforms worn by the referees make them look like filleted fish.
