    • Abstract:
This article offers the opinion of Peter Conn, professor of English and education at the University of Pennsylvania, who objects to the accreditation of religious colleges and universities. He states that religious institutions compromise academic freedom and he protests against faith statements that faculty members are obliged to sign. He claims that the accreditation process is negotiable for religious colleges and objects that these schools are not held to the same standard as secular colleges.
