      The article presents the general context for selected legislation and jurisprudence in the European Court of Justice. It explores the general context, cites the facts, and interprets the judgment of an outpatient cancer treatment based on the Article 13A(1)(c) of the Sixth Directive. The European Court notes that the medical care provided by independent doctors is exempt from value-added tax (VAT) under Article 13A, but can be levied to all medical services.
