      The article reports on the struggle of music artists against media and fans to give their anti-war message. Artist Natalie Maines told a London audience, “We're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas,” her group was banned from many radio stations and fans were organizing rallies against it. The harsh reaction sent a loud-and-clear message to any artist opposed to the war in Iraq. In the weeks since the war began, dozens of artists have spoken out against it. Yet musicians' voices have been threatened by fans and media who might accuse them of being insensitive to the situation faced by America. Singer Days before she planned to release the video for her new single, ldquo;American Life,” on April 4th, she canned the clip at the last minute, saying she didn't want to disrespect U.S. troops. Even after some footage was edited out of “American Life,” the singer said she didn't want to risk offending those who might misinterpret the video, which features images of warfare.
