      The article reports that according to a study, conducted by biologist Stuart Pimm of Duke University and colleagues, published in the periodical "Science," the rate of plant and animal extinction is significantly higher than biologists had believed, and the Earth is on the verge of sixth extinction. It says that many factors are responsible for species extinction including habitat loss, climate changes and overfishing.
