The essay presents a profile of the Nikkei Newspaper Digital Archive Project (NNDAP), begin in 2011 to preserve the 20th-century Japanese-language U.S. newspaper, known alternatively as the "North American Post" or the "Hokubei Hochi." Comments are given situating the project within a larger trend of newspaper archiving initiatives throughout the U.S. The history of the newspaper is briefly reviewed. The design and methodology of the archiving project are then described in detail.
