      The article reports on the number of refugees fleeing from Syria into Lebanon which exceeded the one million mark on April 3, 2014, according to the United Nations (UN). Figures presented indicate the population growth of Syrian refugees from April 2012 to April 2014. The impact of this rising number on the economy Lebanon and on its public expenditures and public services is discussed. Social, political and humanitarian concerns pose by the influx of Syrian refugees for Lebanon are considered.
