In this paper, we study the one-dimensional periodic Anderson model via bosonization. In the Toulouse limit, an effective Hamiltonian for the correlated electrons is derived. The effective Hamiltonian provides new information in understanding the emergence of ferromagnetism in the model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
