      The article examines innovations that have been made in Turkish design as a result of the search for national design identity. Topics discussed include the history of industrial design in Turkey, the impact of trade between Turkey and the European Union on design in the country, and the Turkish designs of coffee pots, tea trays, and tea glasses. The impact of the potentially radical politics and government of Turkey on design is also examined. The design and construction of mosques in Turkey is also explored.
