    • Abstract:
This article offers the author's memories of Leo Strauss, a professor at the University of Chicago, Illinois. The article examines the family, educational background of Strauss. It also cites some of the works done by Strauss and explores some of his views and ideas. The author particularly pays attention to Strauss' commitment to constitutional government and the U.S. regime and his attitude toward the tradition of his fathers. Strauss sought to reassert the tradition of revelation. According to the author, he does not recall any passage in which the professor sought to summon a resistance to any change in the U.S. legal arrangements or social policies. Strauss, the author notes, knew that the tradition of his fathers was a religion of reason.
