      The article discusses the impact of climate change on Svalbard reindeer. According to ecologist Steve Albon and colleagues, reindeer living in the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard may be threatened by increased temperatures in the winter, which lead to precipitation in the form of rain rather than snow. It is suggested that while reindeer can eat vegetation buried beneath snow, rain freezes over lichen and plants, leaving them inaccessible.
