      The article discusses a study which investigates an increase in morbidity and mortality of people in rural parts of India due to organophosphorous (OP) compounds poisoning. Topics discussed include lack of prehospital treatment for OP poisoned patients such as delay in administration of atropine and lack of primary healthcare facilities, increase in mortality due to delay in ventilator support, and administration of pralidoxime (2-pyridine aldoxime methyl chloride [PAM]).
