      The article discusses research and advocacy group Project RED's 1-to-1 learning initiative for kinder to 12th grade (K-12) schools in the U.S. as of May 2013. Topics discussed include the results of the group's 2010 survey of education technology programs in 1,000 schools in the country, factors that need to be considered when planning a 1-to-1 program such as the need to assess the school district using the Project RED's readiness tool and calculating the cost of the program using the group's implementation cost comparison tool. Also highlighted is the need to adjust the program with cost control measures using the group's 1-to-1 cost savings calculator.
