    • Abstract:
The article presents information on single-malt whiskies. The reason behind the decision of Scotch lovers to abandon ordinary blends in favor of single-malt whiskies is the attraction of character and diversity. The difference between a single malt and the ordinary Scotch is that a single malt is a pure malt whiskey. Barley is needed in making a single malt. The processing of barley involves dampening it until the grains begin to sprout then they are roasted in a kiln. Distillation strategies also differ among distillers.
