      The article discusses the armaments strategy of West Germany, or the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), from 1955 through 1972. The ability of West Germany to project its power, including in regard to its relationship with the United States the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and European countries, is discussed. An overview of West Germany's economic development is provided.
