      The article explores legal writing. The author confessed that his biggest challenge as a writer is figuring out what his points are and how to support them from the abundance of things that could possibly be mentioned. A California judicial opinion released after the turn of the 20th century was used by the author as an example of how a writer needs to have a focused mind to communicate effectively with his reader. The four-step process in writing is discussed.
