      The article discusses various cognitive science concepts in relation to similarity judgment and derivative works under American copyright laws as of April 2013, focusing on the subjectivities of human perception and efforts to invalidate copyrights in the U.S. Similarity is addressed in regards to original works and derivative materials in America. The Copyright Clause of the U.S. Constitution is examined, along with America's Copyright Act of 1976 and several copyright-related legal cases.
