This article discusses research done on the best management of hand lacerations under 2 cm. It references the study "Suturing Versus Conservative Management of Lacerations of the Hand: Randomized Controlled Trial," by J. Quinn, et al. The randomized, controlled study conducted among 91 participants whose mean age was 39 years revealed that the primary outcome of cosmetic appearance as assessed by physicians blinded to treatment did not differ between patients treated with sutures and those under conservative management.
