      The article offers the author's insights on aspects regarding the importance of evidence-based design in hospital intensive care units (ICUs). He states that the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Design Guidelines provide multiple recommendations for the design and construction of ICUs. He mentions that evidence-based design has positive contributions to critical care medicine. He adds that environmental factors affect the clinical outcome of patients in hospital ICUs.
