    • Abstract:
Two paradigms are heavily utilized in intercultural communication, positivistic and interpretive. These two paradigms, holding different philosophies, present different worldviews in interpreting reality, human behavior, culture and communication. Focusing on differences between positivistic paradigm and interpretive paradigm, this paper intends to examine the paradigm debates in intercultural communication studies. Additionally, a new perspective of global integration will be introduced to intercultural communication in the context of globalization. Space and time, the two most important dimensions in cross-cultural studies, are integrated into this new perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
