The article considers how the failure of the Arab armed militia groups known as the Army of Sacred Jihad (Jaysh al-Jihad al-Muqaddas) and the Rescue Army (Jaysh al-Inqadh) to create ciphers which were unbreakable helped lead to their failure during the 1948 Palestinian War against the Jewish armed forced, who later become known as Israelis.
