    • Abstract:
This is the twenty-seventh issue of our yearly index of interviews published in currently received journals from the Sukov Collection of Little Magazines, Department of Special Collections, Memorial Library, University of Wisconsin-Madison. A very special note of thanks this year goes to our own Barb Richards whose dedication, indefatigable persistence and matchless detective skills have so enriched this collection through the years. The collection began its existence in 1958 when a private collection assembled by Dr. Marvin Sukov, a Minneapolis psychiatrist, was purchased by the library for the Dept. of Special Collections. These early issues and complete runs for a number of scarce titles laid the foundation for an extensive collection, one of the best in the country. The development of the collection was greatly influenced by Felix Pollak, Curator of Rare Books from 1959 to 1973, and a distinguished poet in his own right. In the fifty-four years since its inception, the collection has doubled its size to more than 7300 titles, including approximately 1100 titles currently received. In this list for 2012 there are 412 interviews representing the usual wide range of well-known and not well-known writers and artists. It is an eclectic and international mix, reflecting the wider audience generated through Internet access, as many journals appear in print as well as online in some form. This index represents interviews from print publications only. Content available online is usually discoverable online; the print interviews are a bit more fugitive and so we continue to concentrate our energies on those. We hope to see them all thrive, regardless of format. As always, we include a list of magazines currently received in the collection but not included in the newly online Dustbooks eDirectories (formerly the International Directory of Little Magazines and Small Presses), organized alphabetically by country of publication, with mailing addresses and URLs (when available) for future reference. The URLs provided are up-to-date as of February 2013. The editors thank Rachael M. Page for her assistance in completing this index. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
