A biography of Dutch-Spanish nobleman Don Rodrigo Calderón de Aranda is presented. He was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1576. His family moved to Spain and he entered the service of the Marquis of Denia and accumulated several properties, including the town of Siete Iglesias, Spain, of which he was made marquis. He served as a diplomat to the Netherlands and France. He was named Count of Oliva. He was accused of involvement in the death of Spanish Queen Margarita in 1611. He was executed on October 21, 1621.
