- Abstract:
The article focuses on operational and maintenance (O&M) cost modeling for offshore wind farms. It mentions that operating an offshore wind farm requires great effort as its operational and maintenance (O&M) cost can be enormous. It adds that that the estimation and optimization of O&M cost and downtime is not an easy task as the cost of preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance requirement need to be determined. Moreover, it also cites the use of OMCE-Calculator as a tool for assessing the forecasted O&M effort and the related costs for the coming period. It also cites the three kinds of maintenance needs necessary to assess the O&M effort, which include unplanned corrective maintenance, condition-based maintenance, and calendar-based.
