    • Abstract:
The author offers a rebuttal to Doctor Daniel H. Sterman's point editorial on routine testing for epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in patients with lung cancer. He maintains his stance that the testing should be routinely considered but not routinely done especially for lung adenocarcinoma. He also cites an opinion from the American Society of Clinical Oncology and a guideline from the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology and the Spanish Society of Pathology to back his opinion.
