      The article presents a brief historical chronicle of the origin and beliefs of the Murshidiyya, a religious community that emerged from the Ghaybiyya sub-sect of the 'Alaw B;/Nusyr B; Islamic community in Syria, based on neglected written sources and fieldwork undertaken in 2010. The periodization of the community's history is offered, starting with the founding of the community by Salmen al-Murshid until the birth of its new leader, NB;r al-Mudi al Murshid.
