    • Abstract:
This article synopsizes two conferences held in Gniezno, Poland, focusing on the life of German Wehrmacht officer, Captain Wilm Hosenfeld, an individual who had saved many Poles during the Second World War while serving with the German Army in occupied Poland. The first meeting was attended by Polish-German scholars (and those interested in Polish-German questions) from Poznań, Poland. The second meeting was held at the invitation of Poland's primate, Archbishop Józef Kowalczyk, and involved the students of Gniezno's high schools. Both events were organized by the Poznań-based Oddział Okręgowy Stowarzyszenia Katolickiego "Civitas Christiana" and funded by the Fundacja Konrada Adenauera.
