- Abstract:
The article looks at coworking, or working in a location where employees of more than one company and/or freelance workers work in the same space, as of 2013. It describes various coworking arrangements, including one company inviting others to place some employees at its site and coworking office spaces operated by a third party, such as the office space company NextSpace. It recounts electronics company Plantronics's decision to give employees the option of working from home or at a NextSpace branch and describes telecommunication company AT&T's coworking policy. It also cites Internet retail company Zappos's creation of work spaces open to the public within its Las Vegas, Nevada, headquarters building, and presents comments from chief executive Tony Hsieh.
