- Abstract:
The article analyzes the poem "Aeneid" by Virgil. It focuses on the poem's references to Rome's Republican Forum and monuments, as well as how the poem's representations of narratives of Roman history reflects culture under the Roman emperor Augustus. Particular attention is also given to the Aedes Castorum, an ancient Roman temple, the Dioscuri from Greek and Roman mythology, and the Battle of Lake Regillus between the Roman Republic and Latin League.
