- Abstract:
The article discusses the findings of studies which have revealed that green tea may lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and thus reduce the risk of death from heart disease and stroke. A study of 40,530 Japanese adults found that those who drank more than 5 cups of green tea a day had a 26 percent lower risk of death from heart attack or stroke. However, some of the drawbacks of green tea are also highlighted, thus suggesting not more than 5 cups a day.
