  The article looks into the journey of Swedish novelist and women's rights advocate Fredrika Bremer in the U.S. The author mentions that Bremer decided to go to America in 1849 believing that she would find a society more catering to the needs of women compared to Sweden and other European countries. He states that Bremer's literary works found an audience in the U.S. He states that Bremer came back to Sweden with her fiction developed.
