      The article focuses on the issue of press freedom in South Korea and its change from authoritarian to libertarian. It discusses possible guidelines of freedom of the Korean press under President Roh Tae Woo who suggests that his government should make an effort to seek cooperation from the press in helping the people to understand its policies better. It mentions the sociopolitical and legal changes regarding on the press-government relations in Korea and suggestions regarding on practicing the separation of power principle and reorganizing the intelligence agencies to prohibit them from interfering the press for any reason.
