      The article focuses on the pattern of newspapers ownership and management in Nigeria. It says that the newspapers in the country lose credibility due to its misuse by politicians and political parties. It states that independent newspapers are opted to focus on morals, politics, ideology and culture of their owners. It mentions that after Nigeria got their independence, the government obtained portion of ownership and control of most media organization, which affects the growth and circulation of independent newspapers and the freedom of the press. It concludes that the pattern of private and government ownership in the country has not changed, instead, the latter escalated its scope of ownership and control affecting various factors in the industry.
