The Planetary Emergency.

The article discusses the impact of monopoly capitalism and capital accumulation on global environmental degradation and the ways in which socialism and social justice can effectively engender global sustainability. Various environmental problems are addressed in the article, including climate change based on fossil fuel exploitation, increased species extinction, and loss of freshwater. The author argues that the development of environmentally-sound technology is not the sole solution to the global environmental crisis. Particular focus is given to the impact of global capitalism on the environmental problems of developing countries.
